ALSO...

I have been hired by Katie and her production to create her background which will accompany her animation. Her peice will have a man crawling on the floor in a bar which is in the desert, asking to use the phone, as he is obviously in destress(exhaustion and dehidration), and the woman working there is a 'hillbilly', is a bit slow and doesnt realise, so doesnt want to hand the phone over. For this we did discuss the most effective for story, and have given the characters a life before the animation. Items in the scen will back this up. Here are my first two concepts, and like the others i know the changes i would like to make.

I know that i need to populate the scene, but wanted to have a picture of the lighting i was thinking about, and will add things after it has been critisised. To create these, i like to edit photos together in photoshop, as i find it easier than just drawing it, then i take that into Painter, where i pick the colours i want, as some are too bright from camera flashes ect. and paint over the top. This is my preffered method as i can the edit it further and change and blend anything.

Dining Room concept

I really like this concept, but would like to have the room darker, with candles to create a more sinister atmosphere. I also think the table and mantlepiece should be populated with items usally found in the home, aswell as clues for our story, i think i've said before but cigarettes and smoke, spilt wine, fallen furniture titled frames; general disturbance. From this i am creating a blockout layout in Maya, and will add lights and cameras, then move onto refining the assets.
